Ryan Reichle, 34
08/06/1974 ~ 06/19/2009

Ryan was a part of this group of fishermen. His passing comes as a shock to all of us. At this time of sadness our hearts go out to Ryans family. We pray that God grants grace to those who are in need at this time. That He will be with them in their time of need. That they will know that Ryan does not walk alone.
Ryan leaves behind a son who he was so proud of. Sage who is 13 years old. There has been an educational fund started for Sage. If you have some money to spare, please think of his son. Many of us are fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles... And I know that the thought of leaving your child behind would kill you.... If you can spare five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars... I know he and the family would be touched and the would appreciate the help. I didnt know Ryan well... But I do know he was one of us... a fly fisherman with a passion for the sport and a love for the water.... a love that would be only topped by the love for his son Sage. Funds For Sage Reichles Education can be sent here...

Dick, Ryans Dad told a pretty cool story about Ryan. It went something like this.

A long time client of Ryans was some guy from Oregon. Fished religously with Outcast for over 10 years. In fact was the last client Ryan floated. From what it sounds like this guy was very fond of Ryan and Ryan of he. Ryan according to his Dad has been floating the rivers in Montana since he was 11 years old. He was no newb. He was a river rat. Well this guy through the years had read some of Outcasts writings and blogs...which for you that have read it, was very good. Great detail and experience..he was a great story teller. Well this guy had approached Outcast for the past few years asking him if he could help publish some of his stories. Ryan shrugged him off everytime. When he caught news of Ryans death he contacted his Dad telling him of Ryans stories. Apparently Cast had written a number of stories. They were having someone crack into his computer in an attempt to retrieve them. If the stories are found this guy from Oregon is going to have them published himself. All a small price to pay for a guy who carried him in and out of a boat. When I say "Carried" I mean it. The guy from Oregon was Paralyzed from the waist down. Ryan had literally carried this guy from the truck to the boat back and forth for over 10 years. You just never know. Outcast was a class act.

Ryan “Rapid” Reichle, 34, died Friday, June 19, 2009. He was born to Dick and Linda Reichle on August 6, 1974, in Butte. Ryan often said he lived, breathed and sweated the waters of southwestern Montana’s best rivers. Fishing was more than a job to Ryan; it was his love and passion. Even when not guiding, he was always on the river. The light of Ryan’s life, his son Sage, was born August 22, 1996. They often played guitar together and shared many interests. Ryan is survived by his son Sage, mother and father Dick and Linda Reichle, sister and nephew Jana and Carter Reichle, as well as cousins, aunts and uncles. Services will be held Thursday, June 25th, at 11 a.m., at Brundage Funeral Home in Dillon. A reception will follow the service at the residence of Dick and Linda. In honor of Ryan and his fellow River Rats, a second memorial service and reception will be held Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at Willis Station Campground in Glen. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family asks that guests bring single flowers that will later be placed in the river during the evening memorial in honor of Ryan’s love of the flowing waters.
